Safety
The benefit of the co-location of these two critical functions is the ability to collect, analyze, and share information between AOC and AEOC quickly and provide face-to-face interaction during emergency management. Overall, the co-location of both centers in the same building fosters synergy, collaboration, and efficiency in managing both routine airport operations and emergency response activities.
Requirement
The prerequisites for co-locating the AOC and AEOC in the same building usually include the
Integration of Information Systems and Continuity Planning. This project will create a robust and
integrated setup with co-located AEOC and AOC facilities, thereby improving emergency preparedness, operational resilience and coordination capabilities.
Purpose
The purpose of co-locating an AEOC and an AOC in the same building includes enabling Effective Emergency Response, Centralized Command and Control, Streamlined Communication, Enhanced Situational Awareness, Efficient Incident Management, and Improved overall Safety and Security at DAL Airport. In essence, this co-location aims to foster seamless coordination, communication, and collaboration between emergency response and operational teams, ultimately bolstering the overall resilience and effectiveness of airport operations.
Improvements
The co-location of the AEOC and AOC in the same building enhances airport security through quick response times, integrated security oversight, centralized command structure, heightened situational awareness, collaborative planning efforts, efficient resource utilization, coordinated communication channels, and thorough risk management practices. This collective improvement significantly bolsters the airport's overall security measures and centralized command and control functionalities.
